PB&J & Partners, LLC
Founded by Patrick Finnegan, PB&J & Partners, LLC is a premier technology solution provider and value-added reseller.
The company acts as the primary source of technology products for its clients, partnering with hundreds of manufacturers and offering thousands of products. Its customers range from Fortune 500 enterprises to SMB, representing every industry and headquartered across the US and Canada.
Its core competencies are data center, virtualization, cloud, and business continuity, with a particular focus on sourcing hard-to-find and specialized equipment.
PB&J has partnered with thousands of manufacturers and distributors to provide customers with the supplies they need to keep their production schedules on time.
PB&J works with multiple leading distributors and has built an extensive custom distributor network of over 4,600 sources within VARStreet to support its specialized sourcing needs.
What makes PB&J's operation distinctive is how it operates. The business was designed from day one to run efficiently at scale, with automation doing the heavy lifting across quoting, catalog management, and order processing. That infrastructure, built on VARStreet since 2011, is what has allowed a small, focused team to handle enterprise-grade volume without enterprise-grade headcount.
From a Solo Operation to an Enterprise-Grade Business
Patrick Finnegan started PB&J Technology Partners alone. No team, no support staff, just a clear vision: build a profitable IT reseller business that could compete in the enterprise and defense space without the overhead those segments typically demand.
How does one person manage quoting, catalog, pricing, ordering, and customer management at an enterprise scale without breaking under the operational weight?
VARStreet answered that question systematically. Instead of manually building quotes, the founder could generate accurate, customer-specific quotes instantly from live distributor pricing. A task that could have taken hours of research was done in minutes.
Instead of maintaining a product catalog manually, distributor feeds kept everything up to date automatically, eliminating a task that would otherwise require a dedicated resource.
Customer-specific pricing was automatically applied to the right buyer at the right tier, eliminating the risk and manual effort of managing that complexity individually.
VARStreet’s custom catalog capability allowed the client to add thousands of products along with their linked suppliers, making them instantly available for quoting and storefront selling. When customer orders were confirmed, the system automatically generated back-to-back POs for the custom distributor, eliminating manual handoffs and closing the fulfillment loop end-to-end.
The result was an operation that could do the work of a much larger team. Over 15 years, what started as a one-person business has grown into a focused team that processes over $130M in quotes annually, manages thousands of orders, and runs a sourcing network of 4,600+ custom distributors, all from a single platform. The headcount never needed to match the revenue, because the platform carried the load.
It is a case study in what becomes possible when the right infrastructure is in place from the start.
The Capabilities Behind the Scale
The platform did more than tools strung together. It provided the operational architecture for a business built to run lean while serving enterprise and defense clients with the accuracy and speed those segments demand.
Quoting at the Speed of Business
VARStreet’s quoting engine gave the founder instant access to live distributor pricing across multiple suppliers in a single interface. Building an accurate, customer-specific quote went from a research-heavy task to a fast, reliable process. At the volume PB&J operates, that speed compounds into a significant competitive advantage.
Catalog Management Without the Overhead
Keeping a large product catalog current manually is a full-time job. VARStreet’s distributor feeds handled that automatically, pulling in updated pricing, specs, and availability without anyone on the team having to touch it. For a solo operator, this was the difference between being buried in admin and being free to run the business.
Customer-Specific Pricing, Applied Automatically
PB&J serves enterprise and defense clients, each with its own pricing agreements. VARStreet’s pricing engine enforced those tiers automatically, ensuring every buyer saw the right price without manual oversight on every transaction.
End-to-End Custom Distributor Workflow
A large share of PB&J's business flows through custom distributors outside the standard network. VARStreet made this seamless — set up the distributor, add the catalog, link them together, and when an order came in, a back-to-back PO was created directly to that supplier. One system, no gaps, no manual handoffs.
One Platform, Two Product Streams
Sell both VARStreet integrated products and custom products from a single product workflow without any manual intervention bridging the two.
A Platform That Kept Pace
Over 15 years, VARStreet has evolved alongside the business. New capabilities, improved performance, and a support team that responds and resolves. The founder’s feedback has been part of that evolution, shaping features and workflows that now benefit the broader VARStreet community.
VARStreet has been part of our business since day one. The automation it provides, from quoting and pricing to custom distributor workflows and order management, is what allows a small team to operate at a scale most would associate with a much larger company. Fifteen years in, it remains the core of how we run our business.
