Bug Fixes

Sales Tax not being Calculated Correctly on areas with Unincorporated Zip Code (CUZ)

Before Release

  • Previously, system was calculating state level tax as well as city level tax on areas with unincorporated Zip codes. As a result, very high sales tax was getting calculated on areas with unincorporated Zip codes.

After Release

  • Now system will calculate only state level tax on incorporated zip codes
  • A new flag called “Consider Unincorporated Zip Code” [CUZ]” has been introduced in tax table against each state.
  • To access this flag go to BO>>Admin>>Account Settings>>Tax Settings>>CUZ
  • If the CUZ flag is checked, system will only consider State level tax to calculate tax on Unincorporated Zip Code.
  • However, if the CUZ flag is unchecked, system will consider both State level and City level tax to calculate tax on areas with unincorporated zip code.
  • P.S. --> This feature is available only for U.S. resellers and non-Avalara users.
